Discover Why French Food is So Popular

French food is all about simplicity. While you might think about dishes like Coq au Vin and wonder how that could possibly be simple, it is important to understand the basis for the cuisine. The majority of the celebrated dishes in French cuisine started as peasant dishes. Like so many of the dishes from around the world with deep, rich flavors, these were born from the need to cover up the... Continue Reading

This little neighborhood store is packed full of all kinds of Asian foodstuffs. I know very few Asian recipes but I enjoy eating the food. I am a big fan of sushi, sashimi, etc.. so I decided to try my hand at making the different sushi rolls that are popular at many local eateries. I found everything I needed here except for fresh veggies and fresh fish. They do, however, have a large selection of frozen seafood -- some of which I am unacquainted.
I was told that they will make sushi for me if I called ahead to place an order. Sushi rice takes time to prepare properly. Vegetarian sushi only. The price seemed reasonable compared to restaurant prices which can be extremely expensive. And much better than the expensive dried out sushi sold at some supermarket deli's. Fresh is best.
There are a lot of dried foods too like noodles, rice & grains, beans, mushrooms, fish, fruit, spices, drink, wasabi paste. Asian canned goods too like vegetables, fruits, sauces, pickled ginger.
They have a large selection of flavored oils, marinades, soy, eel and other sauces including the Healthy Boy brand mushroom sauce that I think is the best I've tasted for it's low price ($2.99) and huge 23.5 oz. (700 ml) bottle that lasts me nearly a year. And I use it on nearly everything, including for dipping sauces and marinades.
You will find a variety of exotic gifts, candies, cookies, trinkets, and more.
Their shelves are packed with more things than I can mention here.
The building is deceptively small as seen from the street. The parking area is even smaller. Don't let that deter you from shopping.
The lady clerk was very friendly & helpful to me since I couldn't read most of the labels. It took me several trips around the store to find everything I needed. I've returned several times since and shall do so again.
